Dear President Clinton and Senator Clinton:
PUMAs are a little upset over an email that was sent by the former President today:
Dear Friend,
I have played so many roles at so many Democratic National Conventions. I’ve been there as a campaign worker, a governor, a keynote speaker, a nominee, a president, and a former president.
But no convention is quite like your first. There is nothing like seeing for the first time so many people in one place working toward one common purpose: electing the next Democratic president.
It’s an inspiration, and you don’t want to miss it if you have a chance. So I hope you’ll take Hillary up on her offer and contribute by midnight tonight for a chance to attend the Denver convention in person. You’ll get to see Hillary speak on Tuesday, and Barack Obama — the next president of the United States — on Thursday.
And I hear Hillary and you will have a chat — I’ll make sure to stop by.
Enter before midnight tonight for a chance to see me, Hillary, and Barack Obama at the convention in Denver next week!
Join Hillary in Denver. Contribute $5 today.
I know you’ve always been there for Hillary, and she needs you now as she works to pay the small vendors who helped us during the campaign. Even as little as $5 can make a real difference. Hillary’s not going to stop fighting for the issues we all care so much about, and she’s going to need you all the way.
And if you contribute before the midnight deadline, you might have the chance to join Hillary and me in Denver next week for a truly exciting and historic convention. You’re going to get to see an amazing display of Democratic unity in person — you don’t want to miss it.
Contribute $5 before midnight tonight for a chance to join me and Hillary in Denver next week.
Thanks for all the support and help you’ve shown to Hillary. I can tell you that it means the world to her.
Sincerely,
Bill Clinton
Partisan politics is dirty business, isn’t it? One minute you’re defending yourself against accusations of racism by your opponent; the next minute they need you to pass the basket for him. It’s crazy, and most people hate it.
With all due respect, it’s hard to understand why both of you accept this charade from a political party that abused you so badly only a few months ago. I can only guess it’s because Senator Clinton wants the support of the DNC for any future political campaigns. But will they come through?
Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, et al, have all shown who and what they are. PUMAs believe they stole the nomination from Senator Clinton. There will be a roll call at the convention, but it seems to be only a sham. The DNC will never allow a democratic process to unfold that could end with Senator Clinton emerging from Denver victorious, even if that is the will of the people. Why play along with this farce?
Both of you could make a real difference, not only for the Presidential election of 2008, but for the long range future of politics as well. Send a message to the DNC to stop bullying its candidates. Declare political independence. It’s the only way, President and Senator Clinton. The two of you have the clout to do this and really make a difference. Run for President as a politically independent candidate. Joe Lieberman was forced to make this same decision in his 2006 Senate campaign, and he was victorious. It could happen that way again. It’s certain it won’t happen any other way.
Both political parties have become much too powerful; they must receive the message that they will no longer get away with extracting pints of blood from their candidates. Let’s start now.
Yours truly,

The reason the democrat establishment is turning against the Clintons is that their power to blackmail is weakening. For 8 years now they have had no access to FBI files.
